Business Lessons to Learn from Johnny Drille “How Are You My Friend”

Introduction

Formerly, I’ve not being that big a fan of Johnny Drille. His music made me angry, simply because my secondary school crushes were his huge fans and they often wanted sweet words said and sung to them. I knew how to write, but singing and speaking then weren’t my greatest strengths. They were heavy burdens and I felt like a donkey saddled with a very heavy responsibility.

Fast forward to today, I am huge on Drille’s music. His debut album, Before We Fall Asleep was my favourite album of 2021 not because it had some of my favourite artists such as Ayra Starr, Ladipoe, Don Jazzy amongst others but it gave me so many songs that I can easily sing along today. The album made me a big Johnny Fan Boy and today, I realized that his songs can easily be domesticated in our businesses.

Just as life is didactic in its forms, Johnny’s music holds more than just lyricism, rhythm and melody. It provides comfort, direction, perception, and philosophy to life. Whilst writing this article for businessmen and women globally, I listened to his recent single, How Are You My Friend and here are few lessons businesses can learn from it:

  • Personalize your Business Approach

The title of the song on its own is a question that many businesses fail to ask. Inasmuch as everybody is seeking profits, personalizing your business is very important as it is an instrument to gaining more grounds than your competition.

Businesses need to learn to familiarize themselves with their customers and ask how they are. This can be in the form of gifts, enquiries, inquisition and forms to fill. Through this act, they can know how best to serve their customers and how their customers feel about their acts of services.

In our previous article, where we stated that Marketing is Like Dating, asking your customer’s how they are is also a love language that is needed in businesses. It is best to treat them as humans first, before customers.

  • Trust is A Needed Commodity in Business

The song lyric had said:

I know sometimes e be like say nobody send you

That one na lie, I dey for you my friend……

The above lines are the assurances that businesses ought to give and customers ought to receive. You may wonder how this is so, but it’s simple. Take for instance, as a fashion designer, your customers need a form assurance in the sense that your goods would be delivered to them on time.

Trust in business is a two-way communication and traffic whereby we both give and receive. Many people do not purchase from businesses that they do not trust. So, it is best to build trust upon your business and brand for the outside world.

  • Think Out Ways to Promote your Business

Content creator, Salem King had said, “Promote yourself shamelessly” and this is what Johnny Drille had done with the release of this music. He had carved out ways towards promoting his recent single. This included a social media post with his number, a billboard alongside extra content videos, viral on social media.

We ought to repurpose our strategic plan towards promoting our businesses. It’s simple using one method in many ways. You can optimally use a product and target various audiences using what suits them.

Finally….

Johnny Drille just as Emeka Thee Stallion also known as Blaqbonez is offering free tips towards promoting one’s self and businesses. We’d be uncovering all these and bringing easy solutions geared at helping you accelerate your business growth.
